Thank you for your interest in Oaklea Montessori. We run two seperate pre-school Montessori settings in North East Essex: one at the Windmill Children's Centre Ramsey, the first Montessori Children's Centre nursery, and another in Dedham which has achieved 
MEAB accreditation. We whole-heartedly embrace the Montessori Approach at both settings where we aim to provide a place were your child can develop naturally in a safe, rural environment. Oaklea Montessori at the Windmill Children's Centre is a social enterprise Community Interest Company, the link provider to the Windmill Children's Centre in Ramsey, a Sure Start Children's Centres Tendring.

The link between the Windmill Setting Ramsey and Oaklea Montessori Dedham
A small Montessori nursery has been operating in the Dedham setting since 1998, and has grown to accommodate a new purpose-built building. This is set in the family home of Caroline Allen who responded to the initiative of Sure Start Children's Centres by setting up a Setting at the Windmill Children's Centre in 2009.
Oaklea Montessori at the Windmill is, however, a larger setting than Oaklea Dedham, with three rooms in comparison to one, and is not intended as a replacement to Dedham. Please see the individual setting pages above for more information.
Caroline Allen
Caroline obtained her Montessori International Diploma in 1996 whilst studying part-time and working in a Montessori nursery. She then worked as the deputy senior directress at the nursery as well as supervising a local playgroup. She set up Oaklea in Dedham in November 1998. She also tutors and examines for the Montessori Centre International and runs a Study Circle locally. She has 'Early Years Professional' status and is currently studying for a Master Degree in early years education.
