Oaklea Montessori
Newtown, Colchester
Our Newtown setting has 1 large, light indoor classroom, a cosy room for under 2s, and an outside area which is full of learning opportunities!
About our Newtown setting:
Our nursery opened in 2014 and is conveniently situated on Wimpole Road, New Town, Colchester, which is on a bus route.
We are open for all families living or working in Colchester or surrounding rural areas.
It was rated “Good” in all areas by Ofsted, in March 2019. The nursery and staff team are committed to continuing their practice and working towards achieving Outstanding.
We are open from 8:00am to 5:30pm, Monday to Friday, 50 weeks a year, providing childcare from birth to five years old.
There is a well qualified and experienced staff team. All team members are DBS checked, receive training in paediatric first aid and regularly attend training sessions to expand and develop their knowledge in childcare.
Newtown has a very cosy 'home to home' feeling, supporting our families and their children when settling in. Our nursery is close to to many facilities, including shops, museums, the recreation ground with a park and nature garden, Bourne Woods. See our testimonials here.
"Children focus for long periods of time, they build intricate models from the range of different plastic and wooden bricks. Staff support this play, by helping them to think about ways that they can further develop their model. They show them a clip board, paper and pencil situated by the construction play area. Staff encourage children to draw a design of their model which they enthusiastically do, enhancing both their physical and literacy skills."
